The Tour de Valley weekend of cycling is upon us once again! Be part of the cycling hype as it takes on the southern part of the Gold Coast on October 21st and 22nd. The third weekend of October will be kicking off with the much-awaited Kirra Criterium Classic along the iconic Kirra foreshore on a Saturday morning.
Featuring a 1.2-kilometre circuit with one of the most idyllic backdrops for cycle-racing in Australia, Kirra Criterium Classic will not only serve as an opportunity for cyclists who are craving for the perfect atmosphere of racing in front of the crowds on a great closed course, it will also be an opportunity for crowds to cheer on and keep the atmosphere warm! Furthermore, there will be six divisions of races and great prizes, too.
The next day will be a showcase of heaps of cycle-racing categories, such as: the 36-kilometre Solo Time Trial, the 72-kilometre or 36-kilometre Team Challenge, and the 18-kilometre Corporate Challenge amidst the breathtaking Currumbin Valley, which will start from Currumbin Creek to Mount Cougal National Park.
More than anything, Tour de Valley is all about promoting cycling in the community. It also endeavours to continuously support the Amy Gillett Foundation as it seeks to reduce the death and injury of bike riders.
