Adelaide rock band THE ANGELS return bigger than ever this 2018 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their 4x platinum 1978 album Face to Face. ARIA Hall of Fame inductees and a dominant force in Australian rock since the ‘70s, The Angels are one of Australia’s most iconic bands that have inspired the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana.

Formed in 1970 as Moonshine Jug and String Band by brothers John and Rick Brewster, The Angels have undergone more name and lineup changes than any other band in Australia. They rose to the music scene with their first 1976 single “Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again”, which was then featured on their debut album The Angels the following year. It wasn’t until their second album Face to Face in 1978 that The Angels made a name for themselves nationwide. Featuring the hits “Comin’ Down”, “Take a Long Line”, “Straight Jacket”, and “After the Rain”, Face to Face brought them into the limelight and is now known as their most successful album to date. Throughout the ‘80s The Angels helped develop what came to be known as ‘Aussie pub rock’, incorporating loud and fast-paced riffs signature of hard rock, progressive rock, and blues. To this day The Angels have released 13 studio albums, all of them reaching notable positions on the ARIA Albums Chart.

For fans of The Angels in Queensland, the chance to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Face to Face – The Angels’ most iconic album – is not to be missed this 2018 on the Gold Coast. They’ll be performing an unmissable celebratory concert at the RSL Club in Southport on November 2.
